Hello world! I’m Ujala Ali Khan – a 32-year-old Pakistani girl living in Dubai. Truly a Desi Girl at heart, I love all things desi: the films, the music, the food. I am a freelance writer, food stylist, hair and makeup artist and costume designer (you can find out more about my work on the ‘portfolio’ link at the top of the page).
With this blog, I hope to showcase some of my favorite things from the world of style, fashion and entertainment … and of course … what’s happening about town.
I am a regular writer for The National newspaper, where I write mostly about Bollywood and a bit about what’s happening in the city. You can read my ‘Desi Girl’ column every Tuesday in the Arts & Life section of the paper.
